Hi Anna,

You cant really compare Interspire wit OC because OC is free. Have never heard of Interspire before, just had a look and they have loads of features huh. If they all work then it well worth the $295. I think OC has most of the features but one thing that looks good about Interspire is the reporting functionality, the link with ebay and the mobile optimised shop. Its definitely all about mobile shopping just now, something OC will have to catch up on.

Open Cart is a great tool for an online store. And it also give you a script that is in open-source is great. Open Cart is nearly as good as the Interspire cart

I am now the proud owner of an Open Cart ecommerce website, and it looks great - check it out: http://hummshop.com
I chose this platform for its end user ease and also flexibility in the design, plus it's a solution for ecommerce hands down.
Neil Smart @ www.thepathwebdesign.com developed the site and I am really happy with it.

Hi Johan,

Yes there is a lack of documentation, and a lack of community structure. However I think steps are being made to change this. There are definitely improvements to be made but atleast the community starts from a good base...the software.

I still stand by it as the best open source shopping cart system and the easiest for designers and coders to get to grips with. Its also the easiest for complete noobs with no design or programming skills to sell straight out the box.

Im glad you like OC though and are supporting it. I think we all have to lend Daniel a hand as after all he is just one guy and cant do everything. So perhaps we should write the documentation for him.

I understand your enthousiasm about OpenCart, for I am too. But nice software is not always enough. Biggest lack on OpenCart is the documentation. It is poor, too few and from a marketing point-of-view it will scare people of, seeing that OpenCart is a serious competitor in open source shopping cart software. But your editorial is nice.
